Guitar class is currently working on the elements of the Guitar SLO (Student Learning Objectives Test ).
Written Objectives: 1. Basic Note-reading and rhythm reading. We have covered quarter notes, half notes, whole notes, dotted half notes, and two beamed eighth notes as well as their corresponding rests or silences. 2. We are learning the basic elements of music: Staff, measure, bar line, double bar line, treble clef, time signature, and repeat sign. Performance Objectives: We have had our pass-offs on D, G A7, D and A D, E7 A, as well as G C, D7 G. Today we began the chord progression Am, Dm, E7, Am. We are learning two new strum patterns and a finger picking pattern. We also learned how to improvise a short melody given a set of pitches and worked in pairs to create 'Mini compositions'. This week we will continue to work on our poster projects. Performances and mini-lessons will be next week. Click the link below to see the date each student's project is due:
