This week in guitar class we will be focusing on:
1. Melody Playing: We will learn the note names of the strings and we will learn how to play a chromatic scale 2. We will continue to practice the chords D Major, G Major, and A7. We will also practice transitioning D to G and from D to E7. 3. We will add a new chord E7 to our chord bank. We have learned the following songs: Amazing Grace, Michael Row Your Boat Ashore. New songs for this week include: What makes you Beautiful and Here comes the sun. PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT: Friday, August 18th D, G, A7, D Four strums on each chord, or a picking pattern. A performance assessment is a playing test, where the students perform one at a time for me. They are judged by how easily they change from one chord to the next, or how steady their beats are in the melody. They need to practice during class to get better, or at home, if they have their own guitar. |
